Pacific Blackdragon is a dragonfish. These fishes are also called Sea dragons. Their appearance is much like a dragon's, which is why they are named after dragons. These Pacific Blackdragon fishes like to live in oceans and are mostly found in the Pacific Oceans. These fishes are also bioluminescent. They live in the deepest part of the ocean. These Pacific Blackdragon fishes are small to medium in size and their size may vary from 5cm to 60cm. They also live a longer lifespan than the other related species. The female is more dominant than the male black dragon fish. 

Pacific Blackdragon Male vs Female

There are some major differences in male and female Pacific Blackdragon fishes. The first and major difference is their apparent color. The Pacific Blackdragon male fishes are available in dark brown skin color and the female fishes are available in ink-black skin color. The Pacific Blackdragon male fish have no chin barrel but the females have. The female dragon fishes are larger in size than the male dragon fishes. The female size may vary from 55cm to 60cm and the male size may vary from 5cm to 6cm.

Pacific Blackdragon Breeding

The breeding of these fishes is difficult because the majority of people do not know how to breed these fishes. These Pacific Blackdragon fishes require a large tank for breeding because these female fishes get to spawn in the deepest area and behind the rocks and caves which are available in the oceans. The male dragon fish protect eggs from the other fishes. Female fishes get to spawn in a suitable season and their favorite season for breeding is August and September. 

Pacific Blackdragon Diet

The Pacific Blackdragon fishes eat a special diet, unlike the other fishes. These fishes require live food and sometimes they require frozen foods. They can easily eat their food while swimming. These Pacific Blackdragon fishes eat their food by using their canine teeth. Sometimes they eat the small fishes which are also available in the ocean. They eat shrimps, squids, worms, crabs, and barnacles. The Pacific Blackdragon male fish have no teeth. That is why they eat their food in a short time. If you take them in a large tank or aquarium you should take care of their diet and health because that is very important for their over all well being.

Pacific Blackdragon Habitat

These Pacific Blackdragon fishes like to live in oceans and in the deep areas of the ocean because they feel comfortable in the deep and the larger area. In the large area, they can swim easily and happily and can balance their fins during swimming. They do not feel comfortable in the small tank or in the small area. These fishes never change their place, instead, they live still in one place. They live in salt and marine water which is suitable for them. They require a certain temperature to live a longer lifespan.
